“Perhaps the most valuable skill I developed at Fordham was an appreciation for the role of communication in the workplace—the ability to work effectively as part of a team. I came away from the MBA Program with an understanding that there is more to business than analysis and theory.”

Ultimately, the success of our graduates says the most about the MBA Program at the Fordham Graduate School of Business. More than 500 program graduates each year enter the fields of commercial and investment banking, accounting, manufacturing, management information systems, media management, consulting and others. Some of them probably already work for your company.

In this section of Dean's Report  we’d like to describe our MBA program culture, present some useful statistical information and introduce four of our recent graduates now succeeding in the marketplace—Lori Hament of Kraft Foods, Inc.; Ezra Rosensaft of Peat Marwick; Natalia Klykova of Chase Manhattan Bank; and Christopher Farrell of Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. These individuals represent the kind of high-quality graduates our program produces.

Solid Qualifications

We are proud to report that the academic qualifica tions of our students have risen significantly in recent years—as evidenced by scores of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and the undergraduate GPAs achieved by our accepted students.

The average GMAT score for our most recent entering class was 600, with 80% of the accepted students ranging between 540 and 660. The mean undergraduate GPA was a B plus.

Our students come to us with an average of six years’ professional work experience from a diverse range of industries including advertising, entertainment, investment, management and telecommunications, among many others. The average age of a program entrant is 27.

These statistics indicate that individuals entering our program have the right combination of academic training, practical experience and maturity to benefit advanced management education. They also provide an objective indication of our institution’s focus on quality and constant improvement.

“Fordham gave me the intellectual training and the practical skills to become an asset to my firm. I came to  my job knowing that theory alone doesn’t get very far with clients. They have real numbers, real taxes and real problems—they want practical solutions
