“Response to Fordham MBA graduates from the companies that recruit here is very positive. they’ve come to recognize that we’re an enormous human capital resource right next door.”

Fordham’s Career Services Office is best described as open, friendly and absolutely dedicated to the needs of graduating MBA students and the growing number of companies who recruit them.

The number of companies contacting our office about career opportunities for our students is up more than 30 percent from previous years.  We work hard to ensure that our students are well prepared for the recruitment process.  “Our top priorities are the career development of our students and preparing them for recruitment," says John Hotard, Director of Career Services Office.

Through mock employment interviews, individual counseling sessions and participation in our Mentor Program-which enables students to explore career options by meeting with successful alumni “in the field”—we prepare our graduates to be focused, well-informed, and clear about their career strategies.

Dedicated to Service

Our office is committed to delivering flexible services that fit the human resource needs of today’s employers.  We have developed an array of resources designed to promote efficiency in the recruitment process.  They include:

Flexible Recruiting Options:  Our office features traditional on-campus recruiting in the Spring and Fall, as well as off-campus recruiting sessions.  On-campus interview programs are scheduled twice each year at our Lincoln Center Campus.  However, to provide maximum flexibility to recruiters, an off-campus option can be used by employers who at any time wish to arrange formal interviews with students at their corporate offices.

Year-Round Intern Availability:  Unlike many MBA programs, in which students are unavailable for internships from September through May, our students

“Our relationship with companies in New York and the surrounding region grow stronger each year. The program has made great strides which companies are acknowledging by hiring more of our graduates.”

are offered the flexibility to adjust their course of study to take advantage of internship opportunities year-round.  Internship descriptions as well as full-time opportunities may be faxed to our office at any time and will be advertised through a weekly student newsletter and posted in various locations throughout the Graduate School of Business.

Resume Books:  A Senior/Second-Year Resume Book is currently available in print, on disk, and on the web.  This “user-friendly” resource is designed to assist recruiters in efficiently prescreening potential interviewees.  The Career Development Office also offers an Internship Resume Book, providing recruiters an opportunity to review the credentials of first-year students available for internships.
