Sandy spent five years as a marketing research analyst for the South African Tourism Board before she decided she was interested in an MBA with a focus in international business.
"International business is an extension of my interest in global affairs. I chose the Fordham Global Professional MBA because it prepares one cross-culturally for a global career."
According to Sandy, if she decides to return to South Africa or work elsewhere, having a degree with an international focus makes for a smooth transition.
"An international degree has greater value as the world becomes smaller and technology changes the way we transact."
If the transition from a liberal arts background presented a challenge, Sandy has adapted well. She attributes this to the supportive academic environment and real-world learning experiences the school provides. Sandy is currently a participant in the Chase Manhattan EURO International Field Study Project with students from the City University of London. Her career goal is to be a management consultant in emerging markets.
