Dr. Corwin retired from IBM after 33 years of service, and subsequently sought opportunities to return to teaching. Prior to joining IBM, he was an Assistant Professor in the College of Business & Management at the University of Maryland. Dr. Corwin was led to the Graduate School of Business by an IBM Colleague who is a recent graduate of the Fordham Executive MBA Program based on his combination of academic and real-world business background. Dr. Corwin’s IBM experience included roles as a systems engineer, a technical support specialist and a technical support manager. For his last 11 years he focused on pre-sale and post-sale support for IBM mainframe and distributed data management products. His specific emphasis for the last 2 years was on advocacy for IBM mainframe Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence solutions. Dr. Corwin spent 3 years teaching at the University of Maryland before joining IBM. He taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Science and Statistics, and continued to teach as an adjunct in the MBA Program after leaving. While at the University of Maryland, Dr. Corwin published his Ph.D. thesis results and supervised a doctoral dissertation.
