A Request – If you are Sure you will arrive late, or leave early, or skip lunch, or skip the reception, and have not already let us know, please do. If you are not sure, there is no need to respond. Check-in begins before 10:00 a.m., and Father McShane, President of Fordham University will provide Opening Remarks at 10:30.
Location / Subway – If you plan to travel by subway, go to Columbus Circle, and exit on the North side if possible. From street level, walk West on 60th St. for one block, to 60th and Columbus Ave. (also known as 9th Ave) – we are on the North-West corner. Note that our Fordham Building is 2 or 3 blocks South of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. It is not a dedicated Business-School-Only building. Do Not go to Fordham Law School, which is 1 block South of Lincoln Center.
Driving – Columbus Ave (9th Ave.) is one-way downtown. 60th St. is one-way, BUT, from Columbus Circle to Columbus Ave, it is one-way from East-to-West, while from the Hudson River to Columbus Ave, 60th St. runs one-way West-to-East.
Parking – There is a parking lot that offers discounts to people visiting Fordham. It is on the South side of 61st St., roughly 50 feet East of Columbus Ave., after turning left off of Columbus Ave. 61st St. runs from West-to-East. Be sure to have the parking lot billing ticket stamped at the Fordham Security Podium. You will receive a discount parking rate of $13 for up to 12 hours. It is much more expensive if you park for more than 12 hours, or if you do not stamp your ticket.
In the Building – The Symposium will take place on the 12th floor of the Fordham Building. There is a Security Podium, and your name should be on a list. A student representative should also be there to help, until about 10:45. When you pass through Security, take the escalator to the Plaza Level. There, you will see the main elevators. The nearest ones go as high as the 11th floor, while the last two go to the 12th floor. However, if you do not want to wait, you can go to 11 and walk up one floor, using the staircase at the middle of the hallway.
