MBA Consulting Program
The MBA Consulting Program is designed to enable MBA students, working in consulting teams, to analyze real business problems and recommend appropriate actions for client organizations in the New York City greater metropolitan area. The program is offered as a three-credit course under the supervision of Professor Allen Schiff, the program director. For the SUMMER 2009 term, several teams of students will be selected to work on projects. If you plan to participate in the GBA Diploma Ceremony on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the Beacon Theatre, you MUST order your graduation cap and gown by Friday, April 3, 2009 – that is only a few days away. If you have not already done so, please click here to visit the Herff Jones website to order.
In addition, if you have not done so already, please visit the GBA graduation website to RSVP for the ceremony. The deadline is also Friday, April 3. If you do not RSVP, you will not receive tickets or invitations for your guests. Tickets are required for all guests in order to attend the ceremony. NSHMBA 2009 Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs is how you afford your MBA! The 2009 application will be available online from February 1 through April 30, 2009. NSHMBA provides financial assistance to outstanding Hispanics pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent. In 2008, over $1.4 million in financial assistance was awarded to students around the country, aiding them in beginning or completing their degrees. FedEx Net Impact Student Essay Contest
The Fordham Net Impact Club is pleased to recognize Cydnee Yamamoto, who has been selected as one of the finalists in the Access: Voice of the Next Generation Student Essay Contest presented by the Net Impact national organization and sponsored by FedEx. Net Impact and FedEx created this contest to encourage emerging leaders to offer their opinion on the future of Access, or the ability for people, organizations, and nations to connect and interact rapidly and widely around the globe, accessing the goods, information and ideas they want, when they want them. In April, three prize winners will be announced, and the winning essay will appear in Access Review, the annual business magazine published by FedEx.
Intraschool ACG Cup
GBA students Jason Adler, Stan Fediuk and John Imperiale are finalists in the Intraschool ACG Cup and will be competing in the NY ACG Cup Final Round on April 2nd. This is a case study competition designed to give students from leading MBA programs real world experience and invaluable insights into mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity. Each case is realistic and provides students with a look at a transaction from the perspective of the owner, the buyer, the financial advisor, the equity investors, the debt providers and the management team. Teams present valuation, capital markets and M&A strategic advice to a panel of seasoned M&A professionals from within the ACG community.
