May 2008 Graduates: The deadline to file your May 2008 on-line Candidate for Degree card is approaching quickly. If you have not completed the on-line Candidate for Degree Card, please do so now by clicking here . DEADLINE TO FILE THE ON-LINE DEGREE CARD IS FEBRUARY 1, 2008.

OASIS Registration systems is CLOSED
In order for students to make change to their spring 2008 registration you must come to the Office of Program Management.

Loan Announcement
MBA and MS students registered for six or more credits and who are either a US citizen or Permanent Resident of the US are eligible to borrow $5000 per academic year. Interest on the loan (8%) does not accrue while a student is enrolled for six or more credits per trimester. Interest and principal payments begin after a 6-month grace period following graduation or if enrollment drops below the six-credit minimum (except during trimesters when a student is doing an internship). The application was emailed to you the week of January 7th. Please complete the form and return it to the Admissions Office at 33 West 60th Street, 4th floor, New York, NY 10023. The application deadline is Feb 19. Please contact the Admissions Office at (212)-636-6200 with questions.

National Society of Hispanic MBAs Scholarship Program
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) provides financial assistance to outstanding Hispanics pursuing an MBA. To be eligible, you must be: a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident, of Hispanic heritage, a current NSHMBA member, and meet NSHMBA’s GPA requirements. This is not a Fordham-managed scholarship. Focus The Nation

The Net Impact Club reminds everyone that Fordham is hosting a robust program of events for the Focus the Nation teach-in on Climate Change. Bringing together representatives from the University, the Community, Government, and various scientific researchers, we will engage in a robust conversation about our global warming and the wide range of issues regarding "sustainability" that are related to climate and the environment. Black History Month Event: African Burial Ground Tours

My Professors: Information Systems

Wei Gao
“An Interest Support Based Subspace Clustering Approach to Predicting Repurchases,” which Gao co-wrote with Zhuo Yang and Olivia Sheng, was accepted for presentation at the Seventeenth Annual Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems.

Evangelos Katsamakas
Katsamakas was the Program chair at the Complex IS Dynamics Conference in June and the Associate Editor for the International Conference on Information Systems. He was also an invited “Expert Panel” participant on the topic of “The Development Impacts of FOSS (Free/Open Source Software)” at a UN Conference in October.

Katsamakas’ paper “Knowledge processes and learning options in networks: evidence from telecommunications” was published in Human Systems Management 26(3). “Disruptive innovation strategy effects on hard-disk maker population: a system dynamics study, co-written with Nicholas Georgantzas is included in Information Resources Management Journal, 20(2). “A System Dynamics model of Open Source Software Development” was included in the Proceedings of 50th Systems Dynamics Society Conference, and “Why most open source development projects do not succeed?” was included in the Proceedings IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering. Both were co-written with Georgantzas.
