Graduate Assistant Position –
Westchester Campus

Dean Francis Petit is looking for a graduate assistant (300 hours) for the Spring term. The position requires that the student is at the Westchester campus on Mondays and Wednesdays during the day. They can take courses at Tarrytown in the evening. Additional independent projects are also required. May 2008 Graduates: The deadline to file your May 2008 on-line Candidate for Degree card is approaching quickly. If you have not completed the on-line Candidate for Degree Card, please do so now by clicking here . DEADLINE TO FILE THE ON-LINE DEGREE CARD IS FEBRUARY 1, 2008.

OASIS Registration systems is CLOSED
In order for students to make change to their spring 2008 registration you must come to the Office of Program Management.

Loan Announcement
MBA and MS students registered for six or more credits and who are either a US citizen or Permanent Resident of the US are eligible to borrow $5000 per academic year. Interest on the loan (8%) does not accrue while a student is enrolled for six or more credits per trimester. Interest and principal payments begin after a 6-month grace period following graduation or if enrollment drops below the six-credit minimum (except during trimesters when a student is doing an internship). The application was emailed to you the week of January 7th. Please complete the form and return it to the Admissions Office at 33 West 60th Street, 4th floor, New York, NY 10023. The application deadline is Feb 19. Please contact the Admissions Office at (212)-636-6200 with questions.

National Society of Hispanic MBAs Scholarship Program
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) provides financial assistance to outstanding Hispanics pursuing an MBA. To be eligible, you must be: a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident, of Hispanic heritage, a current NSHMBA member, and meet NSHMBA’s GPA requirements. This is not a Fordham-managed scholarship. My Professors: Communications and Media Management

John Carey
Carey’s article “The Path To Ultrabroadband: Lessons From Consumer Behavior” appeared in Vol 27, Number 1 of Broadband, and “Expressive Communication and Social Conventions in Virtual Worlds” is forthcoming in the ACM Database Journal.

Carey has been invited to lecture at the New School and NBC/U twice this calendar year, as well as at Columbia Business School and NY Law School. In his spare time, Carey is an advisor to the Adult Literacy Media Alliance, the Annenberg School, University of Pennsylvania, and Sony Children's Museum

Katherine Combellick
At the Association for Business Communication annual meeting, Combellick presented “Experiential Learning and Communication Style: International Service Learning in Kenya”. She has consulted with two Kenyan small businesses, partnered with SERRV International (a nonprofit which markets third world products), and presented at K-Rep Bank and Equity Banks in Nairobi about microfinance partnerships with Fordham.
