National Society of Hispanic MBAs Scholarship Program
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) provides financial assistance to outstanding Hispanics pursuing an MBA. To be eligible, you must be: a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident, of Hispanic heritage, a current NSHMBA member, and meet NSHMBA's GPA requirements. This is not a Fordham-managed scholarship. Latin America and Caribbean students: The Leo S. Rowe Pan American Fund
These highly subsidized loans are made with the understanding that upon completion of their studies, beneficiaries commit to repay the loan in full and return to their home countries to apply their knowledge and training to the economic and social advancement of the developing countries within the Americas.

  • Supplementary aid of up to US$15,000 (for living expenses, tuition, or emergencies not covered by their principal source of finance)
  • Applications are accepted and reviewed year-round –there are no deadlines.
  • Loans are granted for graduate and undergraduate studies.  
  • Scholars, researchers, and professionals are also eligible for exchange programs and professional development courses lasting minimum one academic semester.

SAC invites you to the Spring Gala

Tickets go on sale the week of February 19, 2008.  The first 50 tickets will be sold for $75. The second 50 tickets will be sold for $85. My Professor: Information Systems

RP Raghupathi
Raghupathi had a series of publications over 2007.  “Exploring an MDA approach to developing information systems in health care,co-written with A. Umar, was published in the International Journal of Medical Informatics inJune. An Open Source Approach to Health Information Technology Development,” co-written with W. Gao,was accepted by the International Journal of Electronic Healthcare and appeared in Vol. 3, No. 4. The e-Service Journal published“Interoperable Electronic Health Records Design: Towards a Service-Oriented Architecture,” co-written with S. Kesh in their Summer 2007 edition. “Exploring a UML Profile Approach to Modeling Web Services in Health Care,” with Gao, was printed in the International Journal of Healthcare Information Systems and Informatics Vol. 2, No. 2.  Finally, Raghupathi’s “Corporate Governance of Information Technologies: A Framework for Development,” was accepted by Communications of the ACM Vol. 50, No. 8.

Raghupathi holds editorial positions on both the International Journal of Healthcare Information Systems and Informatics (where he is a Co-Editor) and the International Journal of Information Technologies and the Systems Approach (where he is a Senior Member of the Editorial Review Board).

Amjad Umar
Umar received a Fulbright Senior Specialist award from the US Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) to help overseas institutions develop new academic programs and improve the current ones in telecommunications, information security and enterprise architectures.

During 2007, Umar also had four papers accepted for publication. “Intelligent Decision Support for Architecture and Integration of Next Generation Enterprises” was in Infomatica Journal in August, 2007. “Exploring an MDA Approach to Healthcare Information Systems Development,” co-written with W. Raghupathi, was accepted for publication by the International Journal of Medical Informatics.  “An Enterprise Ontology for eBusiness,” co-written with A. Zordan, was accepted for publication by IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. IEEE Security and Privacy has also accepted “ Security Design for the Next Generation Enterprises” for publication.

Candidates who submitted Candidate Position Statements by 2/22 will be expected to deliver a short 3-5 minute speech to the Student Body, Faculty, and Administration about their vision for the Student Advisory Council for 2008-2009.

March 3-7 – Elections You can read about all the candidates, and see what they envision for Fordham Business School if they win office.  Voting is easy, just make sure you have your FB Direct ID and password, and it shouldn't take longer than a minute.
