Save the Date: Spring 2008 Tri - Campus Career & Internship Fair
Wednesday, 02/13/08, 1PM - 4PM
Location: McGinley Center Ballroom, Rose Hill Campus
The Spring 2008 event will be located at the Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, and will be open to students of all majors from Fordham’s three campuses: Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, Lincoln Center campus in Manhattan, and Marymount campus in Tarrytown, New York. This fair is open to all organizations that are recruiting for full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities for all majors. Registration for the fair will ONLY be accepted via our online registration, which opens Friday, November 30th. The registration deadline is Friday, January 25th, 2008.

Principles of Modern Finance
Principles of Modern Finance is now is currently available for registration. The call number is 14178, course code FNGB-7421-00A, and will be taught by Professor Gautam Goswami. Be advised that this course will be taught in the Tarrytown campus on Wednesdays from 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. The course provides a conceptual framework that allows both corporate finance and portfolio investment decisions to be viewed and understood in a unified context of risk and return. It examines concepts of valuation, risk and return, diversification, asset pricing, and efficient markets. If you have successfully passed or waived out of Financial Environment (FNGB6411) AND Statistics (DGGB6820), you are eligible to take this class.

Information Systems Strategy and Management
Professor Aditya Saharia's ONLINE course, Information Systems Strategy and Management is available for registration. The call number is 12032 and course code is ICGB-7910-001. This course focuses on issues of aligning business and technology strategies. It addresses how IT supports business strategy and business processes, the role of the CIO, systems integration, outsourcing, the value of IT, selection of technologies, and organizational issues surrounding technology implementations. This is the Information Systems area capstone course. If you have successfully passed or waived out of Management Information Systems (ICGB6910), you are eligible to take this class.

Holiday Toy Drive Underway
The Office of Campus Ministry is sponsoring a community toy drive in collaboration with Fordham Big Brothers and Big Sisters to help meet a request by community partners for 500 toys. The Office of Campus Ministry and the Community Service Offices are accepting nonviolent, unwrapped new toys or a cash donation through Tuesday, Dec. 11. Toys can be dropped off in Rooms 101 and 102 of the McGinley Center, Rose Hill campus, or Room 217 in the Lowenstein Center, Lincoln Center campus. Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO,

Randall Rothenberg will discuss how his diverse career in media has affected his leadership style and the affects of career shifts on his path to President & CEO. There will be time for questions and audience interaction throughout the talk. Prior to IAB, Rothenberg was Booz Allen Hamilton’s Senior Director, Intellectual Capital. Rothenberg also spent six years at The New York Times as an editor, columnist, and reporter. He is the author of "Where the Suckers Moon: An Advertising Story." Space will be limited. My Professors - Management

Shoshana Dobrow  
After only one year as a professor, Dobrow received a number of research awards at major international research conferences over the summer. In August, her paper “The Development of Calling: A Longitudinal Study of Musicians” received Best Paper, Careers Division and Best Paper Based on a Dissertation, Careers Division at the Academy of Management Conference in Philadelphia. The paper was also one of three top finalists for the Academy’s William H. Newman Award, which is the All-Academy award for best paper based on a dissertation across all divisions. The Academy of Management is considered the top international conference for management scholars.

At July’s European Group for Organizational Studies Conference in Vienna, Dobrow was awarded Winner of Best Paper, Careers Stream for the same paper. It was also nominated for the conference Best Paper Award; which will be announced at the July 2008 conference in Amsterdam. The European Group for Organizational Studies Conference is the pre-eminent European management conference and attracts international attendance.

Al Greco (Marketing) and Robert Wharton  
Greco and Wharton received one of four 27th annual National Jesuit Book Awards for their book, The Culture and Commerce of Publishing in the 21st Century (Stanford Business Books, 2007), co-authored with Clara E. Rodríguez.

About The Culture and Commerce of Publishing in the 21st Century, the Editor-in-Chief of Publishers Weekly wrote, “This thorough and engrossing book explains everything about the book business in a way that will satisfy "insiders" and "civilians" alike… Anybody who has ever bought a book should now buy this one.”

60 books from 16 Jesuit colleges and universities competed for the 2007 prize, which is awarded each year by Alpha Sigma Nu and the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
