Fordham Graduate School of Business Update

In August 2006, Fordham Graduate School of Business hired a new dean. Dr. Howard P. Tuckman came to Lincoln Center from Rutgers Business School with big ideas for raising the visibility of Fordham Business and for creating a unique identity to enhance the value of our degree. As he starts his second year, we can reflect on past activities and his vision for the school.

For the first time in over a decade, Fordham Graduate School of Business has a formal strategic plan that includes building a stronger international network, reaching out to alumni and business leaders, and improving students’ experiences at the school. These goals extend throughout the coming years, but we have already started to implement strategies to achieve them.

Digital Forensics – Is Your Company Ready?
An Interview with Edward Stroz, Co-President, Stroz Friedberg, LLC
College of Business Alumnus ‘83

Is your company’s electronic information secure? Do you have an action plan in place if something were to happen to your data? Digital or computer forensics is an area that many businesses don’t think about until they have an immediate need, but things are starting to change. Recent news stories highlighting companies like Monster.com and its public relations nightmare are bringing this area to the forefront of business practices.

Edward Stroz, a Fordham graduate and leader in digital forensics, talked with us about his experiences in digital security and evidence retrieval at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and at his own company. “The legal community is usually the one most interested in digital forensics,” Stroz states, “but businesses should take precautionary measures now that will help if they have a breach in electronic data or enter into litigation.”

Alumni Spotlight: Thomas F. Roberts IV

Thomas F. Roberts IV graduated from Fordham Graduate School of Business with an MBA in Finance and is a managing director and head of the New York City Private Banking Offices of BNY Mellon Wealth Management. On September 10, 2007, he was honored at the Music Has PowerTM benefit and awards ceremony presented by the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF), a member of the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services.

Roberts is being honored for his ongoing involvement, guidance and support of the IMNF, and Fordham congratulates him and his peers at Mellon Wealth Management for embodying the ideals of Fordham and social responsibility.
