Communications Corner:

The year has started with a bang, which included our 2008 Faculty Retreat at the United Nations and our first Flaum Leadership Lectures, which featured Randall Rothenberg of the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

One of our biggest successes from the communications standpoint is a full redesign of the student weekly email, which used to be a plain-text, hard to read email. Now it is organized, in full color and highlights new programs, upcoming events, academic deadlines and more! The students have responded warmly, and we see a real change in their information uptake. We even feature faculty accomplishments in the email to help them stay engaged with the happenings of the school!

Another huge success for the Graduate School of Business is the addition of a new Director of Development, Keith Norton (see sidebar). Our former director, Robert Smith, has assumed other responsibilities at the University, and Keith has already proven to be a wonderful asset and a real ‘go getter.’ We hope you will welcome him into our community with open arms.

As we continue to move through 2008, we look forward to seeing everyone at the March 5 Joint Council, which was moved to McNally Auditorium due to ongoing renovations on the 12th Floor of Lowenstein. As always, keep the updates coming! Congratulations to everyone for their accomplishments and contributions to the School and University.

Warm regards,
Celia Cameron
Director of Communications
