Fordham Business IN Business

Many of you are involved in research that is being put to use in the business world or that has very practical applications. In upcoming alumni and faculty newsletters, we hope to present briefs of research that fit these criteria. Interested professors should submit 300-500 words written for a non-academic. Please split the brief into 1) an introduction of your research and 2) how it is currently being used or how it can be applied by the business world. We know that our graduates (and your fellow faculty) will be thrilled to see the accomplishments of their former professors.

Alumni "World Wise Network"

One of the Dean’s goals is to build a true, global alumni community, and so we are launching the “World Wise Network” (WWN), an initiative that will focus on career networking opportunities for our alumni. WWN’s ultimate purpose is to enhance the careers of our graduates and the value of a Fordham MBA in the global community. The WWN will include career-focused events, publications and an on-line directory. If you are in contact with any alumni, please tell them about the WWN and ask them to contact us at cziczo@fordham.edu for more information. You can also forward us their contact information, and we will reach out to them.

Awards, Conferences, and Publications

This newsletter alone makes it clear that our faculty is winning awards and being published in respected journals all over the globe. Please let us know if one of your papers is accepted by a journal, a book is selected for publication, or you are recognized with a personal or professional award. As with “Fordham Business IN Business”, your co-workers will be delighted to see you acknowledged in print.

Welcome to our first Faculty & Staff eNewsletter, which showcases the accomplishments of the Fordham Graduate School of Business community and highlights important school events and information. The Communications Department hopes that this newsletter will deepen our sense of community and our appreciation for colleagues’ work and dedication to academic excellence. Maybe it will even promote cross-area research and form new bonds between our faculty and staff! We hope you enjoy this issue, and we encourage you to send your awards, publications, and presentations to gsbnews@fordham.edu for inclusion in the next newsletter.

Warm regards,
Celia Cameron

Tom Monaco joined the Graduate School of Business School as Director of Career Services on October 22. Tom arrives at Fordham with a passion for working with students and nearly 10 years of experience with Columbia Business School. As you would expect, Tom has countless ideas for partnering with students, faculty, and recruiters. Understanding what is already working (and areas that can be strengthened) will help him prioritize and build an action plan from those myriad of ideas.
