World Wise Network Update
For those of you who may not have heard, the Graduate School of Business has started an alumni networking group out of the Dean’s Office. This organization – called the World Wise Network, or WWN – has already helped reconnect hundreds of alumni in the past six months. In April, Dean Tuckman hosted the first WWN Alumni Networking Reception, which was held at the Princeton Club. Nearly 100 Graduate School of Business alumni and their guests were in attendance.
Since the Fall, the WWN has been producing an e-newsletter, as well as organizing career services events. This Spring, we held “Preparing for the Job Search,” “Networking Strategies for the 21st Century,” and “Interviewing & Negotiating Skills.” (The latter two events were hosted by JP Morgan Chase and MTV, respectively.) The WWN also co-hosted Net ‘work’ing It with the Fordham Women in Business student club.
The WWN now has a Leadership Council of about 30 alumni volunteers. The Council determined in March to break into three subcommittees: student services, alumni outreach and business outreach. Each team is responsible for determining the goals of that subcommittee, drafting next steps and measuring successes. The goals on which the Council has decided to focus in the coming year are: to launch a Student Mentoring program, to improve the alumni database and to encourage more firms to participate in on campus and off campus recruiting.
For more information about the WWN’s events or Council subcommittee efforts, please contact Stephanie Cziczo at cziczo@fordham.edu or 212-636-6509.

Dean's Forum:
The myth that summers are slow for academic institutions was thoroughly disproved at the Graduate School as we busily prepared for this new academic year.
I would like to thank everyone at the School for the dedication I’ve seen over the past two years. You have all shown a commitment to the strategic plans we have laid forth, and I am happy to say that we are moving forward – achieving our goals and identifying new ones.
