School Update

Since our last newsletter, we have made wonderful strides towards achieving our alumni goals. The first is the addition of Stephanie Cziczo, Special Groups Liaison. She is part of our Communications Office in Lowenstein Hall, and she is working to build a bridge between alumni and current students. We have also developed a new alumni networking community called the World Wise Network (WWN), which you can read more about in this newsletter.

World Wise Network

One of Dean Tuckman’s key initiatives for 2008 is to build an alumni community, which we are calling the World Wise Network (WWN). The WWN is intended to build professional bonds among alumni, faculty, and current students that will enhance the careers of our graduates and students, as well as the reputation of Fordham Graduate School of Business Administration in the global community. Through the WWN, we will hold professional and networking events, which will supplement our e-newsletter and annual printed magazine.

Spotlight:
Director of Career Services Tom Monaco

Tom Monaco joined the Graduate School of Business Administration as Director of Career Services on October 22. He believes that right now is the perfect time for his arrival – and for alumni to become reconnected with the School – since the Dean and the faculty are judiciously defining priorities and redefining the school. As you would expect, Tom has countless ideas for partnering with students, faculty, and recruiters. Understanding what is already working (and areas that can be strengthened) will help him prioritize and build an action plan from that myriad of ideas. Tom began his time at Fordham by gathering details about who the students are, what the Fordham culture is all about, what our students need from career services, and how we have previously worked with recruiters.
