Dean’s Forum Each day I realize what the Graduate School of Business Administration has accomplished since I was last interim dean in 2005. We have a vibrant, growing alumni outreach program that has engaged thousands through LinkedIn, career events and networking opportunities. We have launched the second full-time cohort MBA program; and we are in our third year of the master’s degree program in quantitative finance. Our efforts have resulted in recognition from prestigious publications such as Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and US News & World Report. These are tremendous advances of which we are all proud. I plan to continue this momentum throughout the year with a focus on student services, and in particular on strengthening the full-tme program. This is not a new goal, but a crucial ongoing project with broad-reaching effects on our student experience. We will also focus on improving career support and job opportunities for our students and alumni. For example, we hope to increase the number of companies that recruit on campus, post jobs for our students and provide internship opportunities. These are long-term goals that will not be achieved quickly, and we will be relying on alumni to help us to move forward. I ask all of you to do what you can to help the GBA community in a continued competitive marketplace. In future issues of this e-newsletter, I will discuss additional areas that would benefit from increased alumni engagement, including our increasing emphasis on ethical and socially responsible business decision-making in our courses and curriculum and our many international programs, such as our new master’s of science degree in global finance and our new dual executive MBA program with Kadir Has University in Istanbul, Turkey. Our plans for the school are all geared toward continuous improvement for all our community members. You are key in helping us to achieve these goals. I look forward to having a productive year with you all, and I hope you will continue to provide your honest feedback to me via e-mail at gbadean@fordham.edu. Sincerely Yours,
