World Wise Network Update
On April 2, Dean Tuckman hosted the first World Wise Network (WWN) Alumni Networking Reception, which was held at the Princeton Club. Nearly 100 Graduate School of Business Administration alumni and their guests were in attendance. The WWN was established in November 2007 to build and maintain a connection among alumni, faculty and students. Our hope is that – by creating these connections – the WWN will enhance the careers of our graduates and the reputation of the School.
Since the Fall, the WWN has been producing this e-newsletter, as well as organizing career services events. This Spring, we have already held “Preparing for the Job Search,” “Networking Strategies for the 21st Century,” and “Interviewing & Negotiating Skills.” (The latter two events were hosted by JP Morgan Chase and MTV, respectively, for which we are very grateful.) The WWN also co-hosted Net ‘work’ing It with the Fordham Women in Business student club. We plan on expanding our career and networking events over the summer and into the fall.
The WWN now has a Leadership Council of about 30 alumni volunteers. The Council determined in March to break into three subcommittees: student services, alumni outreach and business outreach. Each team is responsible for determining the goals of that subcommittee, drafting next steps and measuring successes. The goals on which the Council has decided to focus in the coming year are: to launch a Student Mentoring program, to improve the alumni database and to encourage more firms to participate in on campus and off campus recruiting.

Student Services
- Mentor a GBA Student – the Council will be launching a program in Fall 2008, but sign up now by requesting a “mentor interest form.”
Alumni Outreach
- Update your information in the alumni database, please click here. (By signing up with the University Alumni Relations, you will receive many benefits including University updates and special offers from respected companies.)
Business Outreach
- Encourage your corporation's involvement with Fordham – request our “Recruiters Deck,” which can be utilized with your leaders or your HR team
- Host student visits to your firm
- Recommend speakers from your organization
- Learn more about the MBA Consulting Program (formerly Field Study Consulting Program)
