World Wise Network Update

On April 2, Dean Tuckman hosted the first World Wise Network (WWN) Alumni Networking Reception, which was held at the Princeton Club.  Nearly 100 Graduate School of Business Administration alumni and their guests were in attendance.  The WWN was established in November 2007 to build and maintain a connection among alumni, faculty and students. Our hope is that – by creating these connections – the WWN will enhance the careers of our graduates and the reputation of the School.

Attention International Alumni

As you know from experience, international students have unique needs – and assisting in that transition to the U.S., New York City and a Business School environment is one of our priorities. At our international MBA fairs, prospective students often have questions about the Fordham MBA environment, cultural differences between the U.S. and their home countries, and living in New York City.

Alumni Achievements:
Hilal Aytemiz - A 50-Year Old Family-Business Enters the 21st Century

Hilal Aytemiz, who received her MBA from Fordham in 2000, was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey. That's also where she completed her undergraduate studies. Shortly after receiving a degree from Bilkent University, however, she thought she'd shake things up a bit. Shortly after graduating from Bilkent, she thought she’d shake things up a bit. She decided to travel over 2,000 miles to New York City for her MBA, where she was the youngest student in the program. Hilal received a Global Professional MBA (GPMBA) degree with a dual concentration in Finance and Information Systems. At the same time, she worked as a Graduate Assistant for Information Systems Professor, Greg Elofson and as an intern in Merrill Lynch’s Private Client Group.

Spotlight: Communications Class with
Ev Dennis

Dr. Everette Dennis chairs our Communications & Media Management program at the business school. He is a media guru and a wonderful champion of alumni classroom involvement. Every year, his class “Media & Communication Industries” (CMGB 7500-001) is filled with a diverse mix of students who are exposed to the wisdom of MBA graduates who have been in the business world.

On behalf of the Office of Admissions and the Student Advisory Council (SAC), we invite you to two upcoming receptions to welcome new and prospective students.  For many, this will be their first opportunity to visit the school and meet various members of the Fordham School of Business Community. Your participation would be of great assistance in making this event a success.  The receptions will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24 and Tuesday, July 22 on the Lincoln Center campus.
