Alumni Spotlight:
Colleen Jones (GBA ’88)

Colleen Jones has been overseeing portfolios for high net worth individuals and affiliated institutions since 1982, first at Warburg Pincus, and currently at Klingenstein, Fields & Co, LLC. After earning her bachelor’s degree in economics at Fairfield University in 1978, she joined Warburg Pincus as a portfolio assistant and in 1980 expanded her responsibilities to supervisor of the portfolio administration department. She is a member of the Financial Women’s Association of New York and The New York Public Library's Planned Giving Advisory Board.

Faculty Spotlight:
Effects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on Sustainability—An Empirical Study

Today, sustainability is a key component of business strategy, with more and more companies, nongovernmental agencies and governments defining their sustainability goals and initiatives. You have only to glance at corporate websites to find large amounts of information on their sustainability policies and initiatives. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (www.sustainability-indexes.com) measures corporate performance in terms of the quality of strategy and management, as well as a company’s ability to manage risks deriving from economic, environmental and social development. Additionally, academic institutions are actively involved in sustainability efforts such as “campus greening.” Student-driven organizations, like NetImpact, for instance, have been actively involved in sustainability and are helping to drive change.
