The Waiver Policy allows incoming students to waive up to 10 courses (30 credits) as long as they maintain the minimum residency requirement of 45 credits. Waivers must be completed within the first term of enrollment at Fordham. Students may be waived from a course if they have:
1. Successfully completed two (2) undergraduate-level courses in related subject matter with the following qualifications:
- Student earned a grade of B or better
- Coursework was completed within the last six years
Or
2. Successfully completed one (1) graduate-level course in related subject matter with the following qualifications:
- Student earned a grade of B or better
- Institution was accredited with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
- Coursework was completed within the last six years
3. The only exceptions to the Waiver Policy are:
- CPA’s receive an automatic waiver from both Fundamentals of Accounting and Business Law I (a copy of the CPA license must accompany the admissions application)
- Applicants with a JD degree receive an automatic waiver from Business Law I
- One course in calculus taken within the past six years can waive Mathematical Methods for Business
If you do not satisfy the automatic waiver policy, you may register for a waiver exam in any of the prerequisite or core business courses. To find out more about the Waiver Exam, email gbastudents@fordham.edu.
