Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF) - Full Time Program
A Program for future leaders in global finance
Fordham’s Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF) program was launched in New York City in Fall 2011. Adapted from our successful collaboration with the National School of Development of Peking University that is underwritten by the NASDAQ/OMX Educational Foundation, this program is an intensive one-year course of study in state-of-the-art theory and techniques for the global financial professional. The program blends classroom study with experiential learning activities in the heart of the financial capital of the world—Wall Street.
The full-time MSGF program is offered to students who are finishing or have successfully completed their undergraduate degree. It is a one-year cohort program which begins in the Fall semester every year.
This program is designed to prepare students to understand the multi-faceted challenges of managing large global companies that operate within a complex and globally interconnected financial marketplace. It covers key issues, including:
- the need for innovative financing instruments that can meet the financing requirements of entrepreneurs and high-growth industries in emerging economies
- portfolio strategies suitable for global investors who seek optimal risk-return tradeoffs from globally traded equity and fixed income securities, and
- the need to manage various facets of risk that naturally arise for corporations and investors who issue or trade these complex securities in the global financial markets
The MSGF curriculum is designed to give students an awareness of the current challenges in the global financial industry (including challenges in governance and ethical leadership), as well as a good foundation in the theory and application of models of financial economies.
