Fordham University’s commitment to business started early in the 20th century with the founding of the undergraduate College of Business in 1920. The Graduate School of Business opened in 1969 as part of the redevelopment of Lincoln Center. Nestled in the southern border of an eight-acre green campus, the school has flourished in the cultural heart of Manhattan.
Over the last 40 years, the school has expanded its programs and its services to students from the New York metropolitan area and from around the world. Some of our more recent advances include:
- 1998: Fordham inaugurated the historic Beijing International MBA Program (BiMBA) at Peking University. Fordham is still a part of a consortium of schools running this program in China.
- 1999: The first Executive MBA cohort started at Lincoln Center. This program has flourished, and we have opened a sister program in Westchester County.
- 2007: The first cohort MBA students started a new program in which students spend a year studying together before breaking out into their individual concentrations.
- 2007: Our new Masters of Science in Quantitative Finance started with classes held in a state-of-the-art trading room housed in a new campus location of 1790 Broadway.
- 2008: The World Wise Network, a career-focused alumni network, was formed in an effort to serve better our 13,000 alumni.
These only highlight a few of the many advances Fordham’s Graduate School of Business has made over the years. We are constantly exploring new opportunities that will prepare our students for a changing business environment while staying true to our high academic standards.
We strive to provide the best education that will nurture the whole student. This is part of the Jesuit philosophy of cura personalis. Fordham teaching begins with a deep respect for you as an individual and for your potential. Being rooted in this tradition, Fordham Graduate School of Business faculty challenges students to strive for ever greater personal excellence in all aspects of life.
